Kindergarten Curriculum
Since the early 1980’s, energetic kindergartners, like yours, have experienced Christian values and academic excellence that is the foundation of St. Catharine School. Our community is dedicated to assisting parents in developing Christian values, academic achievement and personal growth of your child.
Kindergartners are very active learners and the environment created for these youngsters is designed to address all areas of development: spiritual, social, emotional, physical and intellectual. We encourage you to visit our classrooms while school is in session and observe how our teacher and students interact in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.
Ohio Catholic Accrediting Association Approved
Our kindergarten curriculum is fully accredited by the Ohio Catholic Accrediting Association and daily lesson plans are aligned with the Archdiocesan course of study and state standards. Although emphasis is placed on developing reading and math skills, all kindergartners, attend weekly Spanish class, have access to a well-equipped Science Lab, and receive quality instruction in Computer Technology, Art, Music, Physical Education and Library. Within weekly lessons, educational games and activities are created for a wide range of abilities and readiness. The program encourages social development and teaches communication skills.
Full Day Program
We offer full day kindergarten programs. We also have teachers who specialize in teaching remedial and advanced reading and math techniques. Whether a child is struggling or advanced, each student can receive the extra support needed to further their educational experience.
Kindergarten Extras
Beyond reading, writing and arithmetic, your child will have FUN at St. Catharine! We have a cheerful and inviting hallway especially for grades K-2 where they will feel welcome, safe and special. They will be paired with older student “buddies” for special activities, and can enjoy skating parties, fun nights and so much more. Your child and your family will love being a part of the St. Catharine community!
